1 John 5:4-5 ESV
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
What is the world we overcome? It is the enemy of God, which separates us from the love of God. It is self.
How can we overcome the world? By getting beyond self. This is only possible with God's help. Jesus is the way. He allows us to leave the dust of our earth as we are reborn into the life of our Creator.
