1 Peter 1:14-16 ESV
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
"You shall be holy" applies to us equally in two ways. The first and usual interpretation is that we are to change our conduct to reflect our status as children of God. Unquestionably we are commanded to be holy in our conduct.
We must not overlook the fact that we are holy because God has made us holy. The same God who says, "Let there be light" here says, "You shall be holy".
As a child of God you are holy, set apart in His house.
