Matthew 5:8
" “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."
A pure heart does not turn to God. A pure heart resides in the presence of the Lord. It is the broken and contrite heart that turns to God and journeys with Him. The closer we come to Him, the purer our hearts become. We become more like His heart which is embodied in the person of Jesus. We who follow after Jesus will see Him at last. We will behold Him face to face. It is our journey and the work of the Lord.
A disciple asked Jesus where He was staying. Jesus said, "come and see". The blind receive their sight.
The purification of the heart happens in the presence of of God.
