Like The Beasts -Psalms 49:20

Psalms 49:20 ESV
Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish.

Today our surroundings and circumstance have little to do with reality, except from the choices we make in this world. They will determine our eternity. Pomp and understanding have little to do with each other. The Psalmist likens a man without understanding to a beast in the field. A man with understanding has been quickened, born anew with the Spirit of the living God.

Man puffed up with his own understanding will perish. The beast that rises from the sea will be destroyed. We do not want to be part of that herd.

Proverbs 10:21
The lips of the righteous feed many,
but fools die for lack of sense.

Ecclesiastes 3:19
For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity.
