Baptized In The Name

Acts 2:37-38 (NASB Strong's)

37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Baptism in the name of Jesus takes place in the heart. It begins with the repentance of sins. The living waters of life will wash them away making room in the heart for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The outward sign of baptism in Christ is a changed heart. A changed heart will be visible in a changed life. Anyone who receives the light of Christ will become visible in the body of Christ as children of the light.

Ephesians 5:13-14

But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. For this reason it says,

“Awake, sleeper,

And arise from the dead,

And Christ will shine on you.”
