Revelation 2:10-11 ESV
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.’
There are ten days of repentance between the Feast of Trumpets and Yom Kippur. The books of judgement are opened for those days until Yom Kippur, or the feast of redemption. The people are "sealed" for this time of trial. During this time a heavenly court convenes which evaluates the past year and affects the coming year.
This may offer insight to the letter to Smyrna in Revelation. Believers are sealed into a tribulation for ten days in which they are to walk by faith. Enduring in faith to the end will lead to life.
