Pause For Thought

The New Testament might be considered in light of the pauses or interludes that appear in the sevenfold structure in Revelation. This book is found as the last book in Scripture, toward the end of the unfolding of God's plan, as depicted in the opening of the seals, the blowing of the trumpets, and the pouring out of the bowls of wrath.  After the sixth event in each series of three, there is a break before the seventh and final event. It brings to mind the number of the beast, given as 666.  The beast makes His appearance in the last days.

Jesus spoke of Himself as fulfilling prophesy, quoting from Isaiah 61:1-2, but stopping short before the end of verse 2 which speaks of the day of the vengeance of God.  His second coming will complete that verse.
This is echoed in the pause before the 70th and final week spoken of in Daniel 9:24.
This pause is indefinite from our understanding, but is finite and its end is known by God.

God's revelation unfolds in Scripture, centered around His people, the chosen vessel of Israel. The disobedience of that nation was used to bring the light of God to the nations, for God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. In Revelation the story of Israel and purpose of God is brought to conclusion, ushering in a new creation.
We are blessing in what God has done and in the revealing of what He is about to do.
It is for His praise and glory, that we know that He is Almighty God.
