He Leaves It With Us

John 19: 25-27
25Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," 27and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.
John is to assume Jesus‘ earthy role.  Jesus is leaving His place as son to journey on as the Son of God.  He leaves His mother with the disciple He loved.  Jesus entrusts her into John’s hands and loving arms.
We are likewise called to serve, to be the hands and feet of Christ.  The world has been given to us to love as Jesus loves.  It is a world that is precious to Him.  God loved the world enough to send His Son to offer love and grace.  He leaves it with us, but He is always with us.
