John 1:17 (NIV)
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
The law is given so that we might understand our need. Jesus comes with both grace and truth. We cannot choose one or the other. Grace is revealed in truth. Jesus speaks the Word of God, the words of His Father. His words are true, just as God is True.
