The First Stone

1 Peter 2:4-6 (NIV)
4 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him--
5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

We are like Him. We are on the same path He walked. God accepts all who come to Him, in the same way He views His Son, chosen and precious. We are chosen because we chose Christ. We are precious because we become God’s own sons and daughters, a living household as temples of His Spirit. For now we reside in tents of flesh, but that is temporary. We will become like mansions in comparison to this existence when we receive our new eternal bodies. That is our destination. This is our destiny. This is the promise. He is faithful. It has been done.

God laid the first stone.
