A Tree Replanted

Psalms 1:1-3 (MSG)
1 How well God must like you— you don't hang out at Sin Saloon, you don't slink along Dead-End Road, you don't go to Smart-Mouth College.
2 Instead you thrill to God's Word, you chew on Scripture day and night.
3 You're a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.

I like the imagery here used by Dr. Peterson. A tree is often used in the Scriptures as an analogy for people and Eden represents the presence of God. Our return to the garden is a return to God; no longer are we separated from Him by sin.

We are replanted in the rich soil of God’s Word. Our hearts and understanding are opened by the tender work of the Holy Spirit. We take root, reaching down to the water of life. What was naked is now clothed in the leaves of righteousness. What was barren now brings forth fruit. Our true self richly blossoms.
