What Kind Of Man?

2 Kings 1:7-8 (NASB Strong's)

7 He said to them, “What kind of man was he who came up to meet you and spoke these words to you?” 8 They answered him, “He was a hairy man with a leather girdle bound about his loins.” And he said, “It is Elijah the Tishbite.”

John the Baptist wore a garment of hair and a “leather girdle about his loins.” Jesus said he was the Elijah to come who would be the one crying out in the wilderness.

Elijah and John both prophesied in preparing the way of the Lord.

Matthew 17:10-13 (ESV Strong's)

10 And the disciples asked him, “Then why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?” 11 He answered, “Elijah does come, and he will restore all things. 12 But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.
