Psalms 8:3-4 ESV
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
It was not a need of God to pursue man. It is an expression of His nature. When we are made in the image, love will be our response. The question of what is man that he would be considered by God is answered by the nature of the Lord.
Love seeks love, as deep calls to deep.
