Again - Hebrews 4:6-7

Hebrews 4:6-7 ESV

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

“Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts.”

Hebrews 4:1-2

Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.

To conquer the world as Jesus did, we must keep faith in God to the end through obedience to His word. Our journey through the wilderness is ongoing and personal. We don’t travel behind Him in a group of people, but walk with Him as a companion on the way to His house. The light that leads the way is not in front of us because it is within us.

He says to each of us, “Come and see.” Some won’t go, some will turn back, and some will persevere to the end. Those who do persevere will see the glory of God. This He promises in the letters to the churches in Revelation. “To the one who conquers...”
