Matthew 24:9
“ Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name 's sake.
Tribulation for His name's sake began immediately after the giving of the Holy Spirit. The world hates the Spirit that was in Jesus and is in the believer. It is something foreign and contrary to the darkness it finds so comfortable.
This is in sharp contrast to the love that seeks to save that very world. Love is the visible sign of those that seek God. Hate is the visible sign of the enemies of God.
What is the sign of your life?
Luke 21:16-19
You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name 's sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives.
Luke 6:22-23
“ Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.
