Matthew 24:34-35 ESV
Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
This generation is not referring to the single life of a man, but the age of the old man that precedes the new man, a new creature born of the Spirit. The new creation has begun, a work started in the believer and will be finished as He has spoken. He is faithful to His word, as His word faithfully and truly reveals the God that fashioned us from the mud of the earth.
Heaven and earth are passing away, even as the first fruits of a new creation have come life in our hearts. The old was preparation for the new. The new was what He had in mind all along.
