David's Charge to Solomon
“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. Be careful now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong and do it.”
David charges his son, Solomon to build God's temple. A wise man by all accounts, yet he was not able to serve The Lord with his whole heart. Though chosen by The Lord for this honor, Solomon began to forsake God for his many wives.
We are found whether we seek God or turn the other way. He has chosen us to build a living temple as His sanctuary. He still searches all hearts and knows every thought.
Be careful now, be strong and do it.
