Edwards comments about the Locusts are rooted in the fact that in ancient history, Arabs were associated with locusts. Even the Hebrew words for "locust" and "Arab" are almost identical. In many verses in the Bible, locusts ( Arabs) come against the house of Israel for battle. The Arab word for locust is Gindib. The Monolith of Shalmeneser III from Kurkuk, the oldest account from Babylon and the oldest document mentioning Arabs, lists Gi-in-di-bu Ar-ba-a-a regarding Arabs and their territory called "Gindibu."35
