John 6:40 (NIV)
40 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
John 3:36 (NIV)
36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."
John 3:16 (NIV)
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
These are plain words. There is nothing complicated here. Our eternal future depends on our response to Jesus, the Son of God. There are two choices: to believe or reject Him. God gave His Son that we might have that choice. Jesus showed us the will of God.
