Let Us Reason Together - Isaiah 1:18-20

Let Us Reason Together

Coming to God requires a coming together of minds that calls for our willingness and obedience as we assume the mind of Christ.

Isaiah 1:18-20 ESV

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:

though your sins are like scarlet,

they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red like crimson,

they shall become like wool.

If you are willing and obedient,

you shall eat the good of the land;

but if you refuse and rebel,

you shall be eaten by the sword;

for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

If we had no choice, there would be no “if” in these verses. There would be no reason to reason together. Reason is required to stay together, as well as to come together. It is through reason that we receive revelation and through that revelation we can give the reason for our belief.

Some will be saved and some will not. He has left it up to us. His hope is that we will. Our hope is in Him.
