Luke 1:1-4 ESV
Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.
Being an eyewitness to the miracle and wonder of Jesus the man was a privilege only a few would share.
Being a heartwitness to the presence of God within is the greater privilege that is available to every person on the earth, to you and me. This we are given when we receive the Holy Spirit. Our Savior is reborn in us through His Spirit. When we behold our brothers and sisters, we behold the body of Christ.
Psalms 118:23-24
This is the Lord's doing;
it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
