Ecclesiastes 3:19 ESV
For what befalls humans and what befalls cattle--one eventuality is for them; as the death of the one, so is the death of the other. They all have one spirit, and in what way did humans excel above cattle? Nothing, because all things are vanity.
Without the breath of life from the Lord, man is is no better off than the cattle of the field, perhaps worse because he is capable of receiving that breath. That makes us excel above cattle.
