James 2:12-13
" So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment."
Mercy has freed us from the captivity of sin. The law of Moses revealed that sin and our distance from God.
We who follow Christ are freed from the law of the old covenant, but we are under a higher standard: the law of liberty. We receive this gift through the mercy of Jesus Christ. The law of liberty requires mercy. As we received we are to give. If we are unable to be merciful, then we have not and will not receive mercy.
We will be judged. Our fruit will be harvested. Be merciful as you have received mercy.
