Genesis 21:33 (New International Version)
33 Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
In the land of the Philistines, Abraham dug a well and gave seven lambs to king Abimelech as a witness, a confirmation of that fact. After Abimelech departed, Abraham planted this tree near the well.
Abraham rested here for a time in this foreign place. He dug a well where water was not to be found. Because of that well, a tree could be planted and live.
His faith in God was more than able to sustain and refresh, as a tree planted along side the river of the living water, allowing him to worship the Lord, even in this dry land.
