It Is Finished

John 19:30

30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

 These are the last recorded words of our Savior.  His first words recorded in Matthew give insight and meaning to the words that were spoken with His last breath as a man.  The sacrifice of His life was complete, but what Jesus really meant here is that the mission given Him by the Father was accomplished.  That was His Father’s business He spoke of as a child.  

The shedding of His blood freed you and me from the judgment of our sins.  Victory over death would come with His resurrection.  

 Victory is ours when we accept this gift and believe in Him.  It could be done in no other way.  He alone can lead us from our Egypt.  His resurrection has parted the sea.
