First Recorded Words Of Jesus

Luke 2:49 (NKJV) ⁴⁹ And He said to them, "Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?"

After bringing Jesus to Jerusalem for the Feast of Passover, Mary and Joseph left Him behind by oversight as they made their journey back home.  Realizing that he was not with them, they frantically began searching for Him, finding Him in the temple.  When Mary said they had looked all over for Him, Jesus asked why they didn’t realize He would be in the temple, there about His Father’s business. 

That business was about saving the world.  His ministry and revelation was for that purpose. That is why He came.  His life would be given for that end. 

He continues that work in and through those who believe and accept Him.  He reveals Himself to us and to those around us.  We are part of the plan, the business of God.  We are to be like Him.
