Holy Ground - Exodus 3:4-6

Exodus 3:4-6 ESV

When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

It is easy to take our position and relationship with God for granted. Moses was a friend of God and not a son. As great as he was, the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than all the prophets before him.

We are made holy by the presence of God. We have become holy ground because He abides in the earth of our bodies. We are able to stand in the presence of God and not be afraid, for we have become sons in His house.

Abraham had the same response to God that Adam when he fell from God in his disobedience. He hid and was afraid to look at God. He is not the God of our father. He is our Father.

We will see Christ face to face and will be like Him.
