Ephesians 4:9-10 ESV
(In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
Where are the lower regions? The earth.
Where were the dead He came to save? The earth.
What is man made from? The earth.
The new creation is the joining of heaven and earth.
It has begun. First with Christ, then each believer. We are filled with His Spirit.
It will be finished upon His return, to fill all things.
