if hell is being out of God's presence, might we not have some idea of what that would be like? The fallen world is distant from the presence of God and cursed with death as a result of disobedience. The Holy Spirit is present today as a gift of mercy and inhabits believers, but will be removed and death will no longer be restrained. Death will have its way.
