Overshadow -Luke 1:35-37

Luke 1:35-37 ESV
And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy— the Son of God. 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”

He overshadows us all, bringing us out of the shadow of death. We share in birth of Christ, for we join Him in our rebirth. From that shadow we rise to the pure light of the morning star. For those who walk with Him, a new and eternal day has begun, the first and last day for its light will never diminish or give way to darkness evermore.

Just as the Holy Spirit hovered over the waters of a chaotic world, the Spirit hovers over each one of us to bring us into the light of life. A new creature is born. A child is born within us. The kingdom of God grows. Order and peace continue to shape the creation until at last it will be made new. So it is with each one of us. We grow into the likeness of Christ and of our Father above.

Nothing is impossible with God and He is with us.

Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

John 1:34
And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”

Genesis 18:14
Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.”

Matthew 19:25-26
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” 26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
