Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
There are works and there are good works. Good works are defined by God. Without God there are no good works. Without God you cannot know that and there is no lasting significance to the works of man.
Knowing God we begin to walk, or live, in the good works He predestined for those in Christ. Life was predestined.
Good works are evidence of grace in action. The essence of good works is love.
