And Jesus answered them, “ See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘ I am the Christ, ’ and they will lead many astray.
The first response to the question of the disciples warns of deception. Back in the Garden of Eden it was deception by which Satan brought sin into the world. He has not changed his ways from then on. It is a proven strategy that draws men to their death. The goal is to lead us anywhere and anyway other than the way of God.
Many will come and many will be led astray, for the road to destruction is wide.
