1 Corinthians 15:50-52 (NASB)
50 Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
We who have been made alive in Christ have inherited the kingdom of heaven in Spirit. Our bodies remain in the natural condition of flesh and blood. To be made whole and like Christ, our bodies must be made alive in the same way that matches our spirits.
Not all will sleep, but all will be raised in the twinkling of an eye. Believers who have died will join believers who are alive will be raised with incorruptible bodies to meet Jesus in the air. We wait with great expectation. Come Jesus come.
