Ezekiel 10:16-17
And when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them. And when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the wheels did not turn from beside them. When they stood still, these stood still, and when they mounted up, these mounted up with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in them.
The wheels may represent the children of Israel, for they would follow the Lord in the wilderness, stopping when He would stop and following when He began to move. The Spirit led them as a nation in front of the people. They did not go their own way, but would follow Him in any direction He would lead. They are the descendants of Adam who became the first man given the breath of life to be a living spirit before the Lord.
The body of Christ follows the Spirit individually from within through the wilderness of the world, yet in the unity of the Spirit.
