Genesis 3:7 (ESV)
Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
Adam did not have the knowledge of good and evil when he ate of the forbidden fruit. Once his eyes were opened and he knew the difference, sin entered his world.
As children we do not sin. The innocence of a child precludes the accountability for sin. That is why the kingdom of heaven belongs to the children. Our innocence is restored as children of God by the grace and blood of Jesus. We sin, but it’s remembered no more.
We are restored to the innocence of Adam before his fall from an intimate relationship with God. If we overcome the world of our flesh, we will eat from the tree of life.
