Do Not Suppose

Matthew 10:34 (NIV)  34"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

The gospel is not preached in places where the idol of inclusiveness is worshipped. It is not welcome when the truth of God contradicts the good sense and truth of man.  Jesus brings the peace of God, not of man.  A man of true peace is a man of God.

This statement about bringing a sword seems to go with Heb.4:12: For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Jesus is the Word that he brought to mankind. The Word is like a sword--it puts up with no bull. Jesus left his peace with his disciples; the rest of humanity will have to face the (S)Word.
